Discovering Lakeside Menu
The Small Group ministry is the heart of Lakeside Church. We encourage everyone in every age group to be engaged in a small group from Lakeside Kids, Lakeside Youth to adults. We believe we will be transformed in the process of sharing our lives with others in small group setting that incorporates fellowship, discipleship, serving, outreach and worship.
A Small Group is about:
mutual journey of discovering God’s work in our lives
authentic community where we can truly be ourselves
nurturing and supportive environment
growing in grace and discovering our place in the body of Christ
sharing our faith and serving others
If you long to go deeper with God, a small group community is the place to do it. There are many groups to choose from. Lakeside Kids, Lakeside Youth, Celebrate Recovery, Alpha, Griefwalk, and regular small groups listed at: https://lakeside.churchcenter.com/groups/groups
An opportunity to explore the meaning of life. Looking for answers?
The Alpha course is an opportunity for anyone to explore the Christian faith.
It consists of a series of talks addressing key issues relating to the Christian faith.
It is for everyone, especially those wanting to investigate Christianity.
There are more than 28,700 courses running all over the world.
The Alpha program twice a year at Lakeside. The evening consists of food, followed by a video talk and small group discussion. Check out Alpha at https://lakesidechurch.ca/alpha
The purpose of Lakeside Church’s Celebrate Recovery ministry is to fellowship and celebrate God’s healing power in our lives through the “8 Recovery Principles.” This experience allows us to “be changed.” By working and applying these Biblical principles, we begin to grow spiritually. We become free from our addictive, compulsive and dysfunctional behaviors. This freedom creates peace, serenity, joy and most importantly, a stronger personal relationship with God and others.
Celebrate Recovery at Lakeside meets every Monday night at 7:00 pm. A ‘Newcomers 101’ group is offered each week to provide an overview of the program and to help guide 1st time attendees into the appropriate support group that best reflects the current life struggle.

DivorceCare is a 13-session course designed to help you face the challenges of separation and divorce and move toward rebuilding your life. Each DivorceCare session has two distinct elements: During the first 30-40 minutes of the meeting, each DivorceCare group watches a video seminar followed by a support group with focus. After viewing the video DivorceCare group participants spend time as a support group, discussing what was presented in that week’s video seminar and what is going on in the lives of group members. Please see the DivorceCare website for more information. Each topic stands on its own so new members are welcome every week.

Our mission is to provide a safe place to cope with life’s losses.
• Grief is what we feel when we experience loss
• Grief is the inward response to loss
• Mourning is the outward expression of our grief
Griefwalk is a peer-based support ministry where those who have experienced losses themselves are ready to come alongside and “walk” with those who are grieving. We offer this support through:
1. Bereavement Loss Support Groups.
2. One-to-one peer support.
3. Book Resources. We have a library of helpful books and pamphlets.
4. Referral to a Grief Counselor.
It is important to find the best match for each grieving person; an interview is the starting place where together we can look at your personal grief journey and see what supports would be most helpful.

We partner with families to help kids discover and fully follow Jesus.
Kids gather on Sunday mornings in an environment specifically geared to them. From infants to Grade 5, kids are cared for in a secure setting. They are led by a dedicated team of volunteers who get to know each child by name.
Kids learn about God and making faith a part of their everyday lives through engaging stories and hands-on activities. We want each kid to grow up to become someone who loves God, loves others, and really live.
Through fun activities, crafts and worship, our Wonder Kids (0-5 years) program aims to help children believe three key things by the time they are five years old:
God made me.
God loves me.
Jesus wants to be my friend forever.
Our Discovery Kids (Grades 1-5) program aims for children to have experienced and own three basic truths modeled by Jesus in Luke 2:52:
I need to make the wise choice.
I can trust God no matter what.
I should treat others the way I want to be treated.

Lakeside Youth (Grades 6-12)
Lakeside Youth is passionate about being a community helping students discover and fully follow Jesus. We believe that everyone who participates in Lakeside Youth will have an opportunity to develop and grow their faith in Jesus, wherever they are at. We believe that in order for this to happen small groups are essential. Everyone who comes to Lakeside Youth will be connected with a group of peers in a safe, welcoming environment where all students are invited to come as they are. Along with our small groups we have large group teaching times to help us discover more about God and following his ways. We also have large group and small group activity times to help build relationships with our peers and leaders and grow lasting relationships.
Lakeside Youth is a place where students can develop leadership skills in various ways and grow in their personal gifts. We desire that as a community we will not only grow but help those around us to discover Jesus as well through outreach and service opportunities.
We also have a ton of fun at Lakeside Youth through activities at our weekly Wednesday evening gatherings and special events throughout the year.
For more information contact our Lakeside Youth Pastor, Mike Tabet at email@example.com or 519-836-8141 ext. 229.
