Lakeside Church

Elder Team

The Elders at Lakeside are volunteers who have been selected by the partners of Lakeside Church to “direct and protect” the church. During their four-year term, Elders oversee the Executive Pastor of Lakeside, provide spiritual and financial oversight and accountability, and think about the longer-term future of Lakeside. We are grateful to the outstanding individuals who serve on this team.

I came to Guelph to attend university, and that is when I found out about Jesus because a new friend took the time to tell me about Him. My family is presently part of the community at Lakeside Downtown where I am so glad to serve with the prayer team and lead a small group.

I met Jesus as a child in northern BC, where I grew up as a preacher’s kid. For the past 14 years I’ve been in full-time ministry to refugees, based in Kitchener. I’m a mom of 3 children and soon-to-be 7 grandchildren, who all give me much joy. I started attending Lakeside in 2008, after my marriage ended. Lakeside is such a wonderful community in which to heal, to grow and to serve! I’m enjoying leading the prayer ministry at Lakeside North.

Damon Davis

I am married to my beautiful Laurel and we have three children; Daniel, Amanda and Joseph. I have Christian service spanning youth ministry, leading Christian camps, teaching, radio ministry and leadership. I have made Lakeside my home since 2010 where I serve in the prayer ministry, Alpha, and church planting at Lakeside Downtown. I currently work as a psychological consultant with a large school board. I enjoy visual arts, foodie culture and dad jokes.

I was born in Nigeria, Africa, to missionary parents, but my family returned to Canada after the sudden death of my father. I started playing the violin at 7 years old, around the same time that I gave my life to Jesus. I went on to study music professionally. I now serve as Artistic Director of Flyingbow Music Ministry, a non-profit missionary organization I founded in 2010 for Canadian musicians and artists. I met my wife, Le-Anne at Lakeside and we were married in 1994. We have three sons, Kyle, Aaron and Liam.

Noelle Baker

I grew up in a Christian home and became a follower of Christ at a young age. I graduated from the University of Ottawa with degrees in biochemistry and chemical engineering. It was there that I met my husband, Colin, a fellow Engineer (yes, we have super fun dinner conversations)! We are blessed with a talented teenage son, Sam, and unicorn-loving daughter, Sarah. I am a Professor in the Engineering Department at Conestoga College. My passion is singing and helping people experience God through music.
