Acceptance and Change (Guest Speaker)
December 16 7:00 - 8:00 pm | Lakeside Church
Acceptance & Change: Finding Peace in the Process of Growth and Healing
- Can I accept things as they are and still work toward change and growth?
- How do I know when to be patient and accept where I am versus when to take action to change?
- Why does change feel so difficult sometimes, even when I know it’s necessary?
If you’ve ever asked yourselves any of these questions or you want to learn more about finding peace in the process of growth and healing, we invite you to join us for a special talk by Registered Psychotherapist, Don Webers, that will explore the dialectical tension between acceptance and change and how to gently support ourselves and others during the healing process.
Don Webers is a Registered Psychotherapist specializing in: addictions, trauma, depression, anxiety, and personality disorders. He provides individual and group-based therapy. He completed his Honours Bachelor of Arts degree at Wilfrid Laurier University and Addiction Careworker Diploma at McMaster University. In addition, he has over 21 years of extensive inpatient experience working with a variety of mental health disorders, as well as in outpatient private practice settings.
This talk is free and open to any adult as part of Lakeside’s Celebrate Recovery Program. (A freewill offering will be taken). You do not need to be part of Celebrate Recovery to attend, though anyone interested in knowing more about the program is invited to stay following the talk for a newcomers group.
