An event every month that begins at 12:00 am on day First of the month, repeating until June 7, 2020
You’ve taken the first step to come to a new church, but now what?
On the first Sunday of every month we host a Newcomer Coffee at both locations immediately after the gathering. It’s a casual, informal time where you can have a cup of coffee and get to know other people, including our staff, elders, and others who are new to Lakeside. We find the best conversations happens around a table with a drink and some food.
So, what does it look like?
After the gathering make your way to the Cafe, which is located by the main entrance at Lakeside Central, or up the stairs at the front of the sanctuary at Lakeside Downtown (if you have kids, don’t forget to pick them up from Lakeside Kids first). If you came with friends or family, bring them along too.
If you’re comfortable meeting new people, simply strike up a conversation. If you’re not, have a seat and we’ll come find you. You won’t be sitting alone for long.
How long does it last?
As long as you’d like. Maybe you’re an extrovert and you could chat with new people all day, or maybe you’ll hit your “people limit” after one good conversation. Or maybe you want to stop in and say hello but you’ve got lunch plans or the baby needs a nap. How long you stay is up to you. We’ll mingle for a few moments and then we’ll introduce our staff and elders to you, and then invite you to keep hanging out for as long as you’d like.
What do I talk about?
The conversations you have is up to you. A Newcomer Coffee is a great chance to ask questions about the church, how to get involved, what programs we offer for families, or maybe you just want to find a few friendly faces to say hi to on a Sunday morning.
Do I have to RSVP?
Nope. You just have to show up. It doesn’t matter if it’s your first Sunday or you’ve been coming for a few weeks or months. If you consider yourself new to Lakeside, you’re welcome at a Newcomer Coffee. We hope to see you there.
