Volunteers
Serving at Lakeside means you’re not just filling a position or meeting a need, but you’re saying YES to what God has in store for you. No matter where you serve, you’re part of a Lakeside team that is helping to create meaningful worship experiences and opportunities for people to discover and fully follow Jesus.
Everyone can say YES to something!
No matter what you like to do or how you’re gifted, there’s something for you to do. Being part of a church family means that no one gets left out – everyone has something to do. So if you’re not sure where to begin, we’ve got a few suggestions:
Pick something. Scroll through the list, find something that interests you and go for it. We don’t expect a lifetime commitment to any one thing, and we’re happy to give you opportunities to try new experiences. So pick something and give it a shot. When you find something you like, click the I’m Saying Yes button.
Connect with a member of our staff team. We’d be happy to chat with you. Simply click the button below to get started.
Have your own idea? Just because you don’t see it listed here doesn’t mean we can’t use your help. Let us know what you’re passionate about and where you see a need.
Find An Opportunity
Celebrate Recovery is a confidential 12-step ministry that walks with people through their hurts, hang-ups, and habits, offering hope, freedom and a safe place. We would love to have you join one of our teams! Whether it’s worship, tech, the Solid Rock Cafe, or our prayer team. Training and support are provided.
Enjoy serving people? Like to connect over a good cup of coffee?
Make and serve coffee on Sunday mornings.
Want to help people who are hurting?
Help others heal from the pain of separation/divorce as a facilitator in the 12-week DivorceCare program. Facilitators should have been through the program themselves.
Are you passionate about helping the broken-hearted?

We are looking for Facilitators and Hosts to lead our Support Groups, as well as a Food Coordinator, Kitchen Help, Event Planner and Database Coordinator. Training and supports are all provided.
Help mulch, weed, and plant gardens and planters at Lakeside in the spring, summer, and fall.
Are you a people person? Do you like to make people feel welcome?
Be the first to welcome guests as soon as they arrive, answer questions, and make sure everyone (newcomers and regular attenders) feels welcome!
You are committed to creating a first impression that is welcoming and friendly for kids and their families, especially first-time guests. By clicking a few buttons, you also help our new families navigate our secure check-in process.
Are you great at building relationships with kids? Enjoying teaching them about Jesus?
We are looking for great people who want to have fun while investing in the lives of kids from JK to Grade 5. As a Lesson Leader, you are in charge of the room. You lead the provided group lesson for the day, pray with the children, and assist with pick-up.
As part of the Lakeside Kids Tear-Down Crew, you’ll meet in the kids area following the service to help stack chairs, turn off TVs and computers, put away supplies, wipe down tables, and turn off the lights.
Are you great at building relationships with a few kids? Enjoy helping out but not leading a room?
In this role, you’ll greet kids as they arrive, assist and support the Lesson Leader, and help with clean-up.
Life Group Facilitators are those with a desire to connect people together and to Jesus. You don’t have to be a teacher or expert in any field, you only have to have a heart for people and a desire to journey with others in faith. If you’d be interested in facilitating a group of people around a book or video series, project, or mission initiative, we’d love to chat about ways to get you started.
Want to help out but can’t commit to a regular day and time? Do you like helping out in a variety of ways?
Our On Call Team is a team of volunteers who help out with a variety of tasks on an as-needed basis. We text when there’s a need. If you can help, you respond. If you can’t help, just ignore the text; there will be plenty of other opportunities.
Do you have a desire to pray with others?
Consider joining the Prayer Team. All that’s required is a heart for prayer.
Are you comfortable with a camera? Take good pictures with your phone?
Our volunteer photography team takes pictures of our Sunday morning gatherings and special events. Must have your own gear and be comfortable taking quality pictures that can be used on our website and social media. Flexible commitment.
Are you more of a behind-the-scenes person? Do you enjoy learning new things?
We provide free (yes, free) training on the technology that we use each weekend to help facilitate the Sunday service. Opportunities are available to help with sound, lighting, cameras and more.
Do you like making people feel welcome and comfortable?
Ushers welcome people into the auditorium, help families find seats, and assist with behind-the-scenes tasks.
Do you play an instrument? Sing? Like to help lead people in worship?
We love to worship at Lakeside! Worship is an important part of our Sunday morning service, that helps bring everyone together. We invite experienced musicians, both vocal and instrumental, to be part of our amazing team.
Do you have a heart for teens?
We believe that a key ingredient in a teen’s faith journey is having consistent adults in their life who lead them to Jesus. We are looking for people with leadership abilities and a heart for teens to help on Wednesday evenings.
