Sunday Schedule

All students in Grades 6-12 are invited to join us in the Youth Zone every Sunday morning after the coffee break!

Each week will look a little different - from diving into God’s Word and real-life conversations, to serving together, to worship and community moments led by our youth themselves. It’s a space designed for students to grow in faith, friendships, and confidence as they learn to follow Jesus.

On Youth Worship Team Sundays, students are invited to participate even if they're not musical. They can help with tech, sound, or lighting, or just come and hang out.

We’re always looking for adult volunteers who can provide support every couple of months, helping with discussions, connecting with students, or simply being a friendly, encouraging presence. If you’d like to invest in the next generation, email rrabidoux@lakesidechurch.ca.

What we're talking about right now

Through the month of April, we're continuing our Look of Love series as we dive deeper into patience, kindness, gentleness, and self-control.

As students grow in their understanding of the fruit of the Spirit, this month invites them to go beyond simply knowing these qualities and begin living them out in real, everyday situations. Together, we’ll explore what it looks like to trust God when life feels slow or uncertain, to choose kindness even when it’s undeserved, to respond with gentleness in moments of tension, and to practice self-control when emotions run high.

Throughout these weeks, youth will be reminded that this kind of growth doesn’t happen by trying harder, but by staying connected to Jesus. As we remain in Him, the Holy Spirit continues to shape our character — helping us pause before reacting, choose grace over frustration, and reflect Christ in our relationships, both at home and in the world around us.

We’ll wrap up the series by creating space for reflection, helping students recognize where they’ve grown and where God is still at work in their lives. Our hope is that they leave not just understanding the fruit of the Spirit, but beginning to see how God is actively forming their hearts and shaping the way they live and love others.

Series Bible Verses:

Galatians 5:22–23 — The Fruit of the Spirit
John 15:9 — Remaining in Jesus’ love

The big Idea Weekly:

Week 1 — Self-control helps us choose what is right, not what we feel in the moment.
Week 2 — Gentleness: Gentleness is strength under control.
Week 3 — Series Wrap Up I: The fruit of the Spirit grows as we stay connected to Jesus.
Week 4 — Series Wrap Up I: The fruit of the Spirit grows changes how we live every day.

April Conversation Starters for Parents:

This month, try asking:  Where has it been hardest for you to stay patient, gentle, or in control lately, and what do you think God might be growing in you through that?

Ready for more?

Plain and simple, we want our young people to:

  • discover more about Jesus
  • have fun
  • make friends
  • find acceptance
  • feel like they belong
  • ask questions
  • grow

We want God to be an important part of their lives as they navigate the years ahead. We want them to develop a strong foundation. We want to be the place where they feel loved and accepted and free to ask questions. We want them to experience the love of Jesus and have that love shape the way they live their lives.

We do that through music, games, and small group time. We offer students opportunities to develop their gifts and abilities by serving others whether through music, leadership or organizing special games. And over the course of the year, they get to participate in weekend retreats, large group events, life-altering conferences, and numerous service projects.

We think being part of a regular youth group helps students build their faith, confidence, and connection to others.

WE’RE WAITING FOR YOU!
