Frequently Asked Questions

What is Lakeside Youth?

Lakeside Youth is a place where students in Grades 6-12 come to learn more about Jesus, make friends, and have fun. This isn’t school, or something they have to do, rather, we provide a safe and inclusive space for students to ask questions, have important conversations with peers and trusted leaders, and learn more about themselves, their faith, and the world around them.

Do I have to believe in Jesus to come?

Not at all. We know that everyone is on their own journey, and the teen years are some of the most difficult and uncomfortable times as students wrestle with who they are and how they fit into the world around them. We share the message of Jesus every week, and you’re free to ask questions, or just listen.

When does Lakeside Youth happen?

We meet most Wednesdays from 7-8:30pm at Lakeside Church (7654 Conservation Road) throughout the school year. Keep an eye on our website for upcoming youth nights and events. To receive reminders and details about cancellations/location changes, or other news right to your phone, text the word YOUTH to 226-910-1120.

Can I bring a friend?

Absolutely! Your friends – whether they attend Lakeside or not – are welcome any time.

Do I need to register?

No. You can just show up, however at some point we’ll need to know a little bit about you. If you plan to come regularly (and we hope you do), this is the form that will need to be filled out by a parent.

What does a typical youth night look like?

Great question! We hang out, talk, play games, and of course, we have snacks!

Meet Our Youth Pastor

Hi. My name is Alisa Ward, and I absolutely love building relationships. I am an introvert at heart, and so deep meaningful connections are my sweet spot. I am here to help students find a safe space within our church community where they can fully and authentically be themselves. A few fun facts about me: I love everything pink and/or fluffy, I'm a chicken collector, pony snuggler, and coffee enthusiast, and someday I aspire to be a vegetable farmer.
