God, I long for your presence.
I long to experience the warmth of your breath,
When I feel small and alone;
The assurance of your strength
When the ground beneath me feels unsteady;
The comfort of your embrace
When my sadness is overwhelming
And the future is foreboding.
My mind knows that you are always with me –
That you’ve promised never to leave me.
But my heart aches.
I yearn to sense your presence,
To know it, really know it,
