Ethan Aquilina
I was born in Inuvik, Northwest Territories and moved to Guelph at the age of 3. I grew up in the church and became a believer at a young age. My wife Victoria and I came to Lakeside over 10 years ago through the ministry of Celebrate Recovery where I have experienced amazing healing from my hurts, habits and hang-ups. I currently walk with others on a similar journey of healing on the Leadership Team at Celebrate Recovery as a group facilitator and Encourager Coach.
I have worked in the insurance field for the past 15 years and I am a huge fan of all things Star Wars and I listen to Christmas music all year long. I love Matthew 11:28 from the Message translation where Jesus invites the crowd to come to Him. He asks, “Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest”. This is my prayer for the Lakeside Church community that we can be a place that helps ALL people find real rest in Jesus by discovering and fully following Him.
Dave Root
Dave Root is a member that has attended Lakeside for the past 20 years. He has been a member of small groups, and was a former small group leader in our Celebrate Recovery program for 8 years. Dave is also the former president, and currently the treasurer of I-Projects, which he has served on the board for the past 12 years. I-projects is a ministry that through construction projects, feeding programs, child sponsorship, and educational support helps communities transform themselves. Isaiah Projects engages in supporting projects in Cuba, Guatemala, Mexico and Peru.
Dave is currently the CFO/ President of Global Business at Eagle’s Flight. He is a seasoned Financial, Operations, Global Sales executive, leader and strategist. He has helped to operationalize a successful Global experiential training company, working with over 52% of fortune 500 companies in 45 countries globally through direct offices and licensed partners.
Dave is married to his wife Kim, with three adult children and two grandchildren.
Reymarie Yabut
My name is Reymarie Yabut and I am a fully devoted follower of Jesus for over 40 years and I am still a work in progress. I was born and raised in Angeles City, Philippines. I am happily married to Eloy and are blessed to have 2 beautiful daughters and 4 grandsons.
We migrated to Canada in 1990, settled in Toronto for 10 years and moved to Guelph in2000. I have a private dental practice here in downtown Guelph and I am blessed to be able to serve our community as I am involved with Hope House Dental Program for years. My family and I have been attending Lakeside Church since 2001 and I have seen the transition and changes over the years. I am grateful to be part of this church as we move forward, “Deep faith and Wide Embrace”.
My life verse that keeps me going is found in Philippians 4:13 “Whatever I have, wherever I am, I can make it through anything in the One who makes me who I am” (The Message). I am humbled and grateful to be able to serve as an Elder and to partner with Lakeside Church as we seek God’s guidance in all that we do.
