- Marc said, “If love is not the ultimate goal, our goals will get in the way of love.” Think of a time in your life (we all have them) when love got left behind in favour of a goal, a plan, a rule, or a selfish pursuit. What emotions surface when you think about that? Are you holding onto guilt or pain? Or can you separate how you might have responded in the past to how you would respond today? And what might that response look like if you were in the same situation now?
- What views have you held in your life that felt certain at one point, but now you think differently? What happened? How did you get from that point to where you are now?
- How has your view of love been shaped by the family you grew up in? Where did you see love in action? Where did you not?
- When you look at your life right now, how are you showing love? What are you doing that’s loving and kind? Are there things you are doing in the name of love for the wrong reasons or motivations?
